Andrew's John Kenneth McCann diary, Sunday 14 July, 1996

We got back to the hospital about 12ish on Sunday, with Mandy's stuff for staying in again. When we arrived, a doctor was doing a brain scan using an ultrasound machine. He explained that he had not seen any bad signs, blood clots and so on, but that the scan could not pick up finer details. He also mentioned that they were concerned that John had not passed much water, as kidney damage can be another result of oxygen deprivation.
The sedation was working much more effectively today. It was good that John was not in visible pain, but he was very quiet. They were, however, able to reduce his dose of painkillers. Dad, Fiona and Peter visited before Fiona and Peter went away on honeymoon.
