The McCannics e-survey, month just ended May 1999

Comments

- on using e-mail questionnaires

"This format saves me having to open up my web browser and locate your site, locate the appropriate form and then complete it. This way I can do it all OFF line and then upload it with the next batch of routine daily email (thus saving on energy and not overly contributing to global warming as well as saving on my phone bill!)."

"We prefer to receive survey results by e.mail, rather than having to access the web, which is so much slower, and a major deterrent to accessing the site."

"I would like the survey result as a simple email too - I never make the time to go look on the web"

"A very efficient way of gathering info, it takes me less than a minute to complete (unless I have much in the way of comment), just a shame it doesn't cover more companies."

"Prefer e-mail as it can be handled off-line from ISP"

"I would not continue with this survey if it were web form only"

- from the four preferring web-based form

"I really don't mind either way. Your service is great."

"Personally, I don't find the e-mail solution to be a problem and will continue to take part in the survey but I do think a web form would make the questions much quicker to answer - perhaps more people would participate as a result? Would it not make compiling the survey results easier too if you put a simple database at the back end of the e-form?"

"I am happy to receive by email for as long as you wish."

"4 out of 48 - Don't worry then. Keep up the good work."

- other comments on the e-survey

"Please note that as of last week we sold our multimedia business. The collapse of the markets in the Far East was the primary reason. We are continuing to run a very small business from home as a translation agency."

"Our sales in the period are down mainly due to a large customer currently in merger negotiations who has suspended all spending"

"Our business has expanded so we always report sales as "higher" than previously. If we ignored the expansion then sales have not always increased"
