After a long and difficult labour, John Kenneth McCann was born at Sharoe Green Hospital in Preston at 2:10pm on Friday 12 July, 1996, nine days overdue. He weighed (we think) about 6 pounds and 4 ounces.

He was not breathing at birth, but oxygen was immediately given and his heart rate and circulation were good. He was admitted to the neo-natal unit and kept in for eleven days. Now he is home and doing very well.
